Justin Bieber’s last couple weeks have been riddled with brushes with the law – from an investigation for an alleged egging to a DUI arrest and assault charges. Now, Bieber has returned to his hometown to regroup and refocus on his family and his music.
"He's happy to be with family," a source told E! News. "He's going to spend some time with them and is doing his best to keep focused and not be distracted. He's learning from the experiences of the past couple of weeks and knows it's time to move on and refocus his attention on work and family."
"He is happy to be at home," another insider told E!. "He is excited to see his little brother and sister and wants to spend time with them and his dad."
Bieber recently took to Twitter to share an article about him that appeared in his local paper, The Beacon Herald. Not only does the article’s author announce her loyalty to the pop star, but quotes both the mayor of his hometown of Stratford and the principal of the secondary school Bieber once attended.
“As far as I’m concerned, he is a 19-year-old person who has made some errors,” Mayor Dan Mathieson said. “I don’t condone them, but I also understand that we all have made errors in our life. I hope for his sake that he can get a reset, and get back to music and doing what he loves.”
“Let’s hope that with some good guidance from those he trusts … things all come back to where they should be,” said Mathieson, who said if he could give Bieber any advice it would be to “stay true to the family and friends who have been there from the start, and lie low for a bit.”
Earlier in the week, Jeremy Bieber shared a picture of his son on Twitter sleeping with his younger brother Jaxson, and captioned the snap, “Safe and sound #homesweethome.”
Bieber, especially over the last week, has turned to his dad for some guidance, and clearly appreciated his support throughout his various incidents. “I have the greatest Dad in the world,” Bieber wrote on Instagram with a picture of his dad. “He's taught me how to love, learn, and stay true to myself. I will forever be grateful because he was my superehero #batman.”
