Jillian Michaels Contracts Coronavirus After Letting Her ‘Guard Down’ At The Gym

Celebrity personal trainer Jillian Michaels said she contracted coronavirus after an ordinary day at the gym with a friend.

“I literally get my guard down for an hour with one of my best friends who does my hair and makeup and got it,” she said. “It’s just that simple.”

Michaels explained that her friend didn’t know she had caught the virus until much later, and Michaels herself didn’t know she had it for the first six days or that she got it from her friend.

“If you’re not in a mask and that person is not in a mask, and they have COVID and have no idea … anticipate that you will likely get it in an environment like that,” she said. “If you are afraid of it, by all means, it’s not a move that I would recommend making.”

As of Sept. 9, there have been about 6.35 million coronavirus cases and about 190,000 coronavirus deaths in the U.S., according to the New York Times database.
