Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on Tuesday in Los Angeles County court, just two years after the high-profile couple renewed their romance and got married.

Lopez cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation, and listed their date of separation as April 26, according to court documents.

Affleck, 52, and Lopez, 55, were first married in a surprise Las Vegas wedding in 2022. At the time, Lopez legally took her husban’d last name and became “Jennifer Lynn Affleck.”

In court documents first recieved on July 16, Lopez, listed as “Party 2,” requested a “new name” on their marriage certificate filing, a return to her previous full name “Jennifer Lynn Lopez.” Lopez listed Afflick’s full name “Benjamin Geza Affleck” as “Party 1” on the document.

Lopez and Affleck’s 2022 private wedding ceremony was attended only by the couple’s previous children. Affleck has three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, Violet, Seraphina and Sam, and Lopez shares her twin Emme and Max with her previous husband Marc Anthony.

A month after Lopez and Affleck tied the knot, the couple hosted a larger backyard ceremony for friends and family at Affleck’s $8 million Georgia mansion.

The divorce papers were filed on the second anniversary of their lavish wedding ceremony in Georgia.

Lopez and Affleck’s marriage came as an unexpected reunition came over 20 years after the couple first got engaged in 2002 after they met on the set of the film Gigli. However, the wedding was postponed, and the couple split two years later in January 2004. The two were able to remain friendly throughout the years, and word of their rekindled relationship surfaced in 2021.

Lopez has requested that neither she nor Affleck be awarded spousal support, as part of the divorce filing’ according to reports, the couple’s split was amicable.
