Jeffrey Lake was arrested Jan. 2, after deputies were called to a Playboy-themed birthday party he hosted for his 18-year-old daughter Olivia ‘Liv’ Lake.

Father Arrested For Throwing ‘Playboy’ Party For Daughter

Lake, a 48-year-old attorney, was charged for violating the “social host” ordinance in Poway, Calif., which outlaws people from hosting parties with underage drinking. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, a estimated 150-200 teens attended the party, most scantily clad and drinking alcohol. Deputies arrived to investigate a neighbor’s complaint and ended up arresting Lake and shutting down the party.

“You have a party like this and it’s as though you’re handing out hand grenades as party favors. It’s a disaster waiting to happen,” said Steve Vaus, mayor of Poway.

Liv Lake’s Twitter feed is now private, but she reportedly tweeted out good wishes on Saturday to everyone who celebrated her party, writing, “Huge thanks to everyone who was able to be a part of last night! I hope you all had a damn good time and that you’re all okay and safe.”

Jeffrey Lake Releases Statement

Lake issued a statement on Wednesday, containing excerpts from the original party invite, which warned guests that it would be “a ‘clean’ party” and that any violators would be kicked out. “PLEASE remember to be responsible so plan accordingly and keep the house, roads, and community safe,” read the invite.
