College students in Grand Rapids, Mich., pulled an epic April Fools’ prank on their professor last week and video of the hilarious gag quickly went viral.

Professor of Macroeconomics, Stephen Barrows has a rule in his class: if a cell phone rings, interrupting the class, the owner of the phone must answer the call on speakerphone. A few students decided to use this sometimes-humiliating rule to their advantage to prank Professor Barrows. A girl in the class arranged for a friend to call her during class, pretending to be from “the Pregnancy Resource Center.”

Students in on the joke recorded the entire event and posted the prank on YouTube. One posting of the video has over 15 million views.

As the conversation unfolds, Professor Barrows quickly becomes uncomfortable and urges the student to take the call outside in private. When the student hangs up, the professor is clearly disturbed, and offers an apology to the class. The girl finally reveals the whole thing was a prank for April Fools’ Day, saying that she will name her baby “April Fools” and the entire class erupts with laughter. The professor can be heard admitting that it was the best prank he’d ever been victim to.

"That was awesome…I will treasure that," Professor Barrows says.
