Harry Styles was hit in the face by an unknown object during his July 8 concert in Vienna, Austria.

As captured in a fan video, the 29-year-old singer is moving along the stage’s catwalk when an object strikes him near the eye. The pop star can then be seen grimacing in pain and covering his eye with his hand as he walks off. Styles has not addressed the incident publicly.

This is not the first time Styles has had items hurled at him by a fan while performing. In 2022, the singer was hit in the groin by an object. He has also had chicken nuggets and Skittles thrown at him during a concert.

Artists being struck by various objects at shows has become a recent pattern. Lil Nas X had a sex toy thrown at him, and Bebe Rexha was hit in the face by a phone. The impact split her eyebrow and required stitches. Pink‘s concert was also interrupted when a fan threw a bag of their dead mother’s ashes at the music artist while in a dangerous incident, Ava Max was slapped by someone who rushed onto the stage.

At one of her Las Vegas shows, Adele spoke about the trend: “Have you noticed how people are, like, forgetting f—ing show etiquette at the moment, people are throwing s— on stage? Have you seen that?” She later joked, “I f—ing dare you – I dare you to throw something at me. I’ll f—ing kill you.”

Singer Charlie Puth also shared his thoughts on the matter on Twitter, writing, “This trend of throwing things at performers while they are onstage must come to an end. It’s so disrespectful and very dangerous. Please just enjoy the music, I beg of you.”
