‘Gossip Girl’ Star Michelle Trachtenberg Claps Back At Critics After Recent Selfie: ‘Check Yourself Haters’

Fans of Michelle Trachtenberg, known for her Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl roles, expressed concern for the actor’s well-being after a recent social media post with Spy Kids star Alexa PenaVega.

The post on Instagram was captioned “These kids…. now adults getting our roots/hair done! Love this girl @vegaalexa.”

Some fans took their thoughts to the comment section immediately, noting Trachtenberg’s paler-than-usual skin, and “jaundiced” eyes. The influx of messages over the actor’s “sick” appearance caused her to lash out.

“Explain to me how I look sick,” Trachtenberg responded. “Did you lose a calendar and not realize I’m not 14. I’m 38. How sad for you to leave such a comment.”

The fan who commented on Trachtenberg looking ill promptly responded, apologizing and reiterating that she meant “no disrespect” and was simply concerned for her. 

That same day, she shared yet another selfie in response to all the criticism. The caption to this one, seemingly more fueled with anger, stated, “I’ve received several comments recently about my appearance. I have never had plastic surgery I am happy and healthy. Check yourself haters.”

Trachtenberg took to Instagram a few days after with a post of her new pink hairstyle.

“Fun fact. This is my face. No malnutrition,” she wrote. “No problems. Why do you have you hate? Get a calendar.”

Trachtenberg’s most recent role was in a true-crime docuseries Meet, Marry, Murder, in 2021. She also made an appearance on the Gossip Girl reboot series for two episodes, but the show was later canceled.
