George Michael died in his sleep on Christmas Day in 2016. His partner, Fadi Fawaz, found the singer on Christmas morning. “ITs a xmas i will never forget finding your partner dead peacefully in bed first thing in the morning.. I will never stop missing you xx,” he tweeted at the time.
Fawaz has faced massive hardship in the time since Michael’s passing. Michael’s family never approved of Fawaz or trusted him, and this has become exceedingly clear since Michael’s death. There were even rumors that Fawaz would not be invited to Michael’s funeral.
Celebrities paid tribute to the late musician since his death, including Adele, Chris Martin, and Elton John. They all performed his songs at various events to honor the legend.
Despite his death, George Michael will live on through his music. In fact, his estate recently released a new single, based on a 1980s outtake, called “Fantasy.” Fans had mixed feelings about the release, but most were happy to hear a fresh song in Michael’s voice.
