Francia Raisa, long-time best friend of Selena Gomez, attended the inaugural Rare Impact Fund benefit and provided more evidence that the two are on good terms with one another, despite rumors of a rift.

Raisa famously gave Gomez her kidney when Gomez needed a transplant in 2017 due to her complications with Lupus.

The two had a public falling out in November 2022 when fans noticed that Raisa had unfollowed Gomez on Instagram. Later, Gomez posted that Taylor Swift was her “only friend in the industry,” and Raisa commented, “Interesting.” Gomez replied, “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”

Gomez and Raisa both kept quiet about their tiff, but by July of this year, the two were clearly friends again when Gomez posted on Instagram for Raisa’s birthday. Next to photos of the two of them, Gomez wrote the caption, “Happiest of birthdays to this special human being… No matter where life takes us, I love you.”

At the Rare Impact Fund benefit, Raisa had only kind words for Gomez.

“We have both seen each other go through so much… I am on my own journey of finally expressing myself and what I have gone through with my mental health,” she told Extra. “I look to her to figure out how to even navigate all of this. Honestly, her sharing with the audience gave me the courage to start sharing with my audience.”

“We trauma bonded, which is beautiful, but also it can get rocky and tricky… people grow, relationships change,” she continued. “Obviously, I treat her like my little sister, and she treats me like her older sister… I don’t know any relationship that’s perfect … I am happy that we are here today, celebrating and supporting each other. We had to almost go on our own journey and grow. I am ok now, and just for the record, it had nothing to do with the kidney.”
