The trailer for Fast and Furious 6, one of the many trailers to be shown during this year’s Super Bowl, reveals more outlandish stunts and surprises to be inspected in the franchise's latest film.

The installment will return all of the major players of the previous films, such as Vin Diesel, 45, Paul Walker, 39, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, 40. It’s set to take place in Europe. The gang is wealthy now, but because of their criminal records they’re unable to return to their home country. DSS Agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) wants them to help take down another gang headed up by Luke Evans, 33, and in exchange, will wipe their records clean.

One of the major surprises was that the trailer reveals the return of Letty Ortiz, played by Michelle Rodriguez, 34. Letty was thought to be dead after 2009’s Fast and Furious, but is now apparently alive and well and working for the rival gang. “We're actually wondering whether Rodriguez's reappearance is a hint of Fast 6's supernatural twist: that every character in it died during each of the gonzo, physics-defying stunts they attempted to pull off in the previous movies, and that Europe is Purgatory,” suggests Den of Geek's Ryan Lambie, in a nod to Lost, the television series Rodriguez starred in. “If Fast 6 ends with the entire cast sitting together in a chapel and grinning at the camera, remember: you read the theory here first.”

The trailer also shows MMA star Gina Carano, 30, as a fellow DSS agent working with Hobbs. “Given Carano's considerable physical prowess, we're assuming she'll be getting into all sorts of fights in Fast 6, though if the trailer's anything to go by, she'll actually spend most of her time sitting or standing two feet away from Dwayne Johnson, and looking enigmatically at something in the middle distance,” writes Lambie.

Fast and Furious 6 arrives in theaters on May 24. Check out the extended first look below:
