Following her 18th birthday in April, Elon Musk’s daughter, a transgender woman, has officially requested to change her name and official pronouns, as well as drop the Tesla founder’s last name in the name-changing process.

L.A. County Court docs read that she requested to be legally known as Vivian Jenna Wilson. Adopting a new name for her gender identity wasn’t the only motivator for the name change, as the listed reason Wilson put was her “gender identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”

Vivian is Musk’s daughter with the Canadian author Justine Wilson. They were married to each other from 2000 to 2008, and have four children besides Vivian together. Musk has not referred to Vivian publicly, but has tweeted insensitive things about transgender people in the past.

He also recently claimed that he was interested in voting for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for president in 2024. DeSantis has been at the head of the Republican charge against LGBT rights, as he recently signed the controversial “Don’t Say Gay” bill into state law.

Vivian’s hearing for her name change took effect on Friday.
