Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk, slammed the idea for a cage match that Elon and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg have been debating.

On Sunday, Zuckerberg announced on Threads that the fight was not going to happen. “Elon won’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead,” he stated. “If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, time to move on. I’m going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously.”

He added that he was prepared to fight him as he “offered a real date. Dana White offered to make this a legit competition for charity.”

Errol seems to agree with Zuckerberg, telling The Sun that for Elon, “it’s to get publicity for X. Elon’s not faking it, just drawing attention to X. A fight would be silly. It’s so high school and banal.”

He believes that Elon is not serious about this fight and is rather focusing on his more pressing responsibilities as Elon has “the new Tesla is coming out, Starship is ready to go, Starlink is bursting at the seams.”

Errol claimed that “Elon is busy with many things. I don’t think he’d give this much thought other than people asking him about it, and he feels the need to reply. It’s not complicated.”

In addition to this, he has characterized the fight as “crazy” and has asserted that, in his opinion, this is a poorly thought-out idea and will only end badly for his son. “The thing is, if this crazy fight goes ahead, if Elon beats this guy, Elon will be called a bully, being so much heavier and taller. While if he loses, the humiliation would be total.”

Elon tweeted on Friday that he planned on having the fight in Italy writing, “The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s foundations (not UFC). Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in the camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all. I spoke to the PM of Italy and the Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location.”

He also added that all the proceeds made from the event will go to veterans and pediatric hospitals in Italy.

On Tuesday, in response to Zuckerberg’s Threads post, Elon refuted the claims that he would not cooperate with Zuckerberg to organize the fight. He recapped the events through his viewpoint, writing on X, “Fight Recap: I joked on X about fighting Zuck. Zuck then said “SEND ME LOCATION.” Italy graciously offered a Colosseum. Zuck declined. I suggested his home as ‘safe space.’ Tragically, he was ahem ‘traveling.’ Is there anywhere he will fight?”
