Elizabeth Chambers released a statement about the ongoing controversy with her estranged husband, Armie Hammer.

At the beginning of January, Hammer was accused of having cannibalistic desires when a Twitter user posted screenshots of DMs, claiming they were from Hammer. The tweet was taken down shortly after being posted.

Following those tweets, Hammer’s ex-girlfriend Paige Lorenze spoke out about her open, polyamorous relationship with him and their BDSM activities. She said she left the relationship because she “always was kind of feeling sick to [her] stomach” and knew she needed to get out.

Chambers posted on Instagram on Monday with a statement about the controversy.

“I am shocked, heartbroken, and devastated. Heartbreak aside, I am listening, and will continue to listen and educate myself on these delicate matters,” Chambers wrote. “I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know. I support any victim of assault or abuse and urge anyone who has experienced this pain to seek the help she or he needs to heal.”

Chambers added that she will not be giving additional comment at this time. She said her sole focus will be on her children, Harper Grace and Ford Douglas Armand.

Chambers broke her silence last week after an Instagram post reported that Hammer’s colleagues, Timothee Chalamet and Luca Guadagnino, were working on an upcoming movie about a woman with cannibalistic desires entitled Bones & All.

Chambers commented on the post, “No. Words.”

Since having these allegations made against him, Hammer has dropped out of the movie Shotgun Wedding

After announcing he would be leaving the film, Hammer said, “I’m not responding to these bullshit claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this, and I’m grateful to them for that.”

Chambers and Hammer got married in 2010. She filed for a divorce from her husband in July 2020.
