Around 3:00 am Monday, a shooting spree at an OVO Fest afterparty hosted by Drake in Toronto left a man and a woman dead and three wounded. Four thousand people were in the club at the time of the shooting.

The shooter reportedly started pulling the trigger inside of the Muzik nightclub in downtown Toronto and killed one person at the outset. The gunman then went outside of the club and fired his weapon into the crowd, killing another person and injuring three others according to the police. It’s unknown whether Drake was in the club when the shooting occurred.

Peter Sloly, Toronto Deputy Police Chief, gave details on the shooting. “This was a brazen, large-scale, ongoing firearm incident where our offices and members of the public were directly in the line of fire,” he said. The Toronto Police announced on Tuesday that they are now seeking two “persons of interest,” but no arrests have been made yet.

Muzik Nightclub said that 70 security guards were present to ensure attendees’ security. The club says each visitor had been inspected with metal-detecting wands.

Homicide Inspector Peter Moreira said that the victims were “in their early to mid-20s… [It] appears [the female victim] didn’t have a role to play in any of the events of the shooting.”

Toronto’s Mayor John Tory reacted to the events on Twitter.
