Cody Longo died of alcohol abuse, a report revealed.
The Days of Our Lives actor was found dead in his apartment in Austin, Texas, in early February. His cause of death was unknown until this week when a medical examiner confirmed it to be “chronic ethanol abuse.”
Longo was found surrounded by alcohol bottles in the room he was in. The discovery was made after his wife, Stephanie Nicole Clark, requested a welfare check on the actor after failed attempts to contact him.
It is also unknown how long the Bring It On actor was dead, as the postmortem report also states that by the time he was found, his body had already begun to decompose.
His family said he had been dealing with alcohol abuse for years and went into rehab last summer. At the time of the discovery of his death, his family suspected that alcohol abuse had a part in his demise. He was 34 years old.
