‘Coyote Ugly’ Star Piper Perabo Arrested During Brett Kavanaugh Hearing [MUG SHOT]

Seventy-one protestors were arrested on Tuesday in Washington for protesting Donald Trump‘s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. One of them was Piper Perabo, an actress best known for her roles in Coyote Ugly and Covert Affairs.

Police officers “responded to numerous incidents of unlawful demonstration activities within the Senate Office Buildings today that were associated with the first day of hearings held by the Senate Judiciary Committee.”

The 41-year-old actress divulged news of her arrest through Twitter, writing that she was proud to stand with those she was arrested with in their fight for equality. She adds that she “can’t be silent” in wake of Kavanaugh’s impending confirmation, fearing he would be a determent to equal rights.

The former tweet has an embedded video that shows Perabo getting escorted out of the hearing room by police. She is strong in her resolve, often tweeting about her distaste for Kavanaugh and his positions. In another tweet, she quotes the late James Baldwin, writing, “I love America more than any other country in this world, and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually.”
