Luke Bell, the country singer known for his song “Where Ya Been?,” has died in Tucson, Arizona, at 32. He had been reported missing by friends for about a week before being found last Friday.

He was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and Bell’s cause of death was not specified. The investigation is still ongoing.

Luke Bell was born in Lexington, Kentucky on January 27, 1990, but was mostly raised in Cody, Wyoming. He began playing music at local bars and eventually dropped out of the University of Wyoming to become a full-time independent country musician.

He spent time traveling and performing in Wyoming, Texas and Louisiana and recorded his first album “Don’t Mind If I Do” in 2014 with a second self-titled album coming in 2016 which was his debut with the label Thirty Tigers. He mostly recorded his albums in Nashville, Tennessee where he became a regular performer at Santa’s Pub.

Bell also toured for artists such as Wille Nelson and Dwight Yoakam. His most recent song was the 2021 single “Jealous Guy.”
