Cardi B has announced that she and her husband Offset have decided to call it quits after just a year of marriage.
Tuesday evening, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper revealed the news through a 42-second Instagram video.
“So, everybody been bugging me and everything. And you know, I been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now,” she began.
“We are really good friends and we are really good business partners — you know he’s always somebody that I run to to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time,” she continued.
“It’s nobody fault I guess we just grew out of love, but we are not together anymore. I don’t know, it might take time to get a divorce and I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father,” Cardi concluded.
In the post’s comment section, Offset wrote, “Y’all won.” Offset, who is set to release a new album next week, has yet to address the breakup in his own post on social media
The news of the duos split has come as a shock too many fans, many of whom are even convinced that the break-up may be a prank because Cardi is known for pulling pranks on social media.
“Naaaa this is a stunt because how u say s— haven’t been working out for a long time? Y’all was just posted up lovey dovey! I know u Cardi…. u don’t do fake love! I call bulls—,” one fan wrote in the comment section of Cardi’s video.
Just over a week ago, Cardi shared recent photos of herself and Offset at a Lakers game.
The rapper also posted a video of the Migos rapper, captioning it, “fine a— I’ll suck ya d— right thruu this phone… hubby album coming 12-14.”
Cardi and Offset got married in secret ceremony last year in September and that following July they welcomed their first child together, Kulture Kiari.
“There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself! Getting married was one of those moments! Our relationship was so new breaking up and making up and we had a lot of growing up to do but we was so in love we didn’t want to lose each other, was one morning in September we woke up and decided to get married,” Cardi wrote at the time when she first revealed that she and Offset were married, after he had proposed to her on Oct. 28 last year onstage at the Power 99’s Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia.
But it wasn’t long until cheating rumors involving Offset surfaced and in January, Cardi asked her fans to respect her privacy as she figured things out.

“I’m going to make a decision in my own times with my heart and mind,” she wrote in a now-deleted tweet. “I don’t need to be rushed or be told what to do. It’s my life! I belong to me not the world.”
Later, the “I Like It” rapper also defended her decision to stay with Offset despite the cheating scandal in an April cover story interview with Cosmopolitan. “I want to work out my s— with my man, and I don’t got to explain why,” she said at the time. “I’m not your property. This is my life.”
