Bruce Willis celebrated his 68th birthday on Sunday with his family and loved ones.

This came after Willis was diagnosed with aphasia last year and announced he would retire from acting. His family then issued a statement last month, saying that his condition progressed into frontotemporal dementia.

“Happy birthday, BW! So glad we could celebrate you today,” Willis’ ex-wife Demi Moore captioned in an Instagram video celebrating his birthday. “Love you and love our family. Thank you to everyone for the love and warm wishes — we all feel them.”

Moore posted a video of Willis’ family singing “Happy Birthday” to him on social media.

This was the first video the family posted of the actor since his dementia diagnosis.

Earlier this month, Willis’ wife Emma Heming Willis asked photographers and paparazzi to keep their distance from her family, stressing that it’s difficult enough to get her husband outside safely.

The Willis family issued a statement thanking fans and supporters for the “outpouring of love and compassion” following the news of his diagnosis.

Heming Willis posted her thoughts on Instagram, writing, “Today is one of those days of feeling the grief and sadness… I’m so lucky to feel your warmth and love that is directed to my husband and our family. I see your messages, your stories that you share, and all I can say is thank you.”
