Don't hold it against her — Britney Spears is back.

The pop star's new hit "Hold It Against Me" debuted at the number one spot on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart, just a week after its exclusive release on iTunes. The song opened at the top spot in 19 other countries.

The song is the biggest first week track number for a female artist, breaking a record previously held by Taylor Swift. Spears also is the second artist, behind Mariah Carey, to have two consecutive number ones on the Billboard chart.

After her record broke first-day sales records on iTunes last week, Spears took to Twitter to thank her fans. "Seriously, I have the best fans ever," she said. "I love you all so much! Everything I do is for you!" —ISHITA SINGH
