Jon Bon Jovi could not be happier about his son, Jake Bongiovi, proposing to Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown at just 20 years old.

Brown is even younger, only 19.

When asked about whether he felt this engagement was happening too early on Andy Cohen‘s SiriusXM show, Bon Jovi replied, “You know, if you find the right partner and you grow together, I think that would be my advice really, is growing together is wise.”

The “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer is speaking from a place of experience, as he married his high-school sweetheart, although they were both nearly 30 on their wedding day.

Regardless, Bon Jovi said he does not think age matters when it comes to love, but rather love and growth. He also had only praise for Brown, whom he called “wonderful” and her family “great.”

Bongiovi and Brown have been dating for nearly three years, and announced their engagement on social media last month with an engagement ring photo. Many fans questioned the wisdom of the duo marrying at such a young age.
