Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Family Says She’s “Doing Well” On Anniversary Of Her Mother’s Death

Bobbi Kristina Brown remained in a medically induced coma on Wednesday, and family says she is “doing well” on the third anniversary of her mother, Whitney Houston’s tragic death.

Bobbi Kristina Not Being Taken Off Life Support

Bobbi Kristina has been in the hospital since Jan. 31, after she was found face down in a tub – eerily similar to the circumstances surrounding her mother’s death. Early reports suggested that her father, Bobby Brown, was going to take her off life support Wednesday, but Brown denied having any such plans on Tuesday, calling the reports “egregious” and “false.”

“The false reports that continue to appear in print and on the Internet are egregious, false and will be dealt with at an appropriate time…. The desire to be ‘first’ has clouded the judgment of many reporters as they forgo accuracy. This is criminal investigation and the integrity of that process requires silence,” said the statement.

Members of the Brown family attended a candlelight vigil for Bobbi Kristina on Tuesday night. “We’re here in support. We appreciate everyone’s prayers, we appreciate it all. The purpose tonight was for everyone to pray and come together as one. To be happy, smile and pray for Krissy. That’s all the family is concerned about right now,” said Shayne Brown, a cousin.

Criminal Investigation Ongoing

While the family has gathered to be by Bobbi Kristina’s side in Atlanta, authorities are officially treating her case as a criminal investigation, and have already begun to investigate Bobbi Kristina’s relationship with her boyfriend Nick Gordon. Gordon was present when Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in the tub of their Atlanta home, and reportedly administered CPR until EMTs arrived. After Bobbi Kristina was taken to the hospital, medical personnel noticed unexplained facial injuries and bruises on her chest, prompting an investigation.

Brown’s Aunt: “Krissy Is Doing Well Right Now”

Speaking to Fox 5 Atlanta, Leolah Brown, Bobbi Kristina’s aunt, revealed that doctors have told the family that Bobbi Kristina was improving. “Krissy is doing well right now. She is,” Leolah Brown said, confirming reports that she had been opening her eyes. Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5

“There are so many signs that are showing us that Krissy will be okay,” Leolah Brown said, adding that the family was choosing to remain hopeful.

Leolah Brown also stated that she believed authorities would find Gordon responsible for Bobbi Kristina’s current condition. “I believe Nick Gordon will be charged with this. I hope that he will be charged with this, as well. Soon, I really do,” she said.
