‘Baywatch’ Star Nicole Eggert Reveals Stage 2 Breast Cancer Diagnosis
Baywatch star Nicole Eggert announced that she has been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer.
Eggert said something didn’t feel right recently when she observed rapid weight gain and pain in her left breast. The actress thought she was going through menopause. After having mammograms and biopsies in November, a pathology report confirmed that she had stage 2 cribriform carcinoma.
Eggert said she’ll have to go under the knife and is awaiting news as to when chemo and radiation will start.
She stated that she has anxieties about the cancer metastasizing. “I have panics where I’m like, just get this out of me,” she said. “You sit there and it’s in you and you’re like, every second that passes and it’s inside of me. It’s growing, and you’re just like, you just want it out.”
Her daughter, Keegan, 12, is giving her inspiration to get through the fight.
“It immediately made me realize there’s just no succumbing to this,” she said. “This is something I have to get through. This is something that I have to beat. She needs me more than anything and anybody.”
Eggert said she wants to start a nonprofit for others in her situation after she has recovered.
“I absolutely 100% want to start a nonprofit for other single parents such as myself, who don’t have any family, don’t have anybody to turn to,” she explained. “They take on all this by themselves because they love their kids so much, but when something happens to them, then what?”
In 2018, Eggert charged actor Scott Baio with molesting her on the set of the 80s sitcom Charles In Charge.
