Anthony Bourdain’s Ex-Wife, Ottavia Busia, Sends Him A Heartfelt Update About Their Daughter
Many people have shared their remembrances in the wake of celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain’s passing, and now his ex-wife, mixed martial artist Ottavia Busia, has offered one of the most personal messages yet.
In an Instagram post featuring the ex-couple’s 11-year-old daughter, Ariane Bourdain, Busia shared, “Our little girl had her concert today. She was amazing. So strong and brave. She wore the boots you bought her.”
After getting married in 2007, Bourdain and Busia split up in 2016, but they remained close. Soon after the separation, Bourdain told People, “My wife and I live, have lived, very separate lives for years. There’s no drama here. We get along really, really well and it’s not a big lifestyle change happening here.”
In a 2013 episode of cooking competition show The Taste, Bourdain expressed the joy of being a dad: “It is the most glorious thing in the world to be the father of a little girl. She warms my heart so much each day. She loves cooking in the kitchen with me, gets up on a little chair and takes it really seriously. We make ratatouille together, omelets, she loves it. She puts on her little apron.”
Bourdain died of an apparent suicide on June 8. If you or anyone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
