Dean McDermott spent Thanksgiving in a sober living facility, away from his estranged wife, Tori Spelling, and their five children.

On Thursday, the actor posted a video to Instagram saying he has “so much to be grateful for this year.”

“I’m going to be spending [the holiday] with my housemates at Freedom House at sober living,” he said. “We’re going to have a lot of fun.”

McDermott, 57, thanked his sponsor and expressed gratitude for “all the groups” and “different treatment centers.”

“I’m just truly blessed and I hope everybody has a wonderful, wonderful day. Bless you all. Happy Thanksgiving.”

The actor recently opened up about how his struggle with addiction played a factor in his separation from Spelling.

“All Tori’s ever done to this day is want me to be happy and healthy, and I inflicted a lot of damage and pain on that woman,” McDermott told the DailyMail on November 15.

“Alcohol made me feel good enough,” he continued. “I started feeling good enough until it got to a point where it didn’t — it ended up in isolation.”

He admitted to drinking a fifth of tequila every night of the week, along with “a handful of narcos [prescription meds].” He said that a “drunk and angry fight” was the last straw in his marriage.

“It was the night that I raged against her and the children and I saw the light, the final flicker of the flame go out in her eyes,” he said.

Spelling also posted to Instagram on Thursday, sharing photos of her holiday with her children and friend Laura Rugetti.

Spelling recently made headlines when she had to evacuate her $18,000 per month house rental when a neighbor took a hostage.
