Hedge fund billionaire John Paulson, 66, is reportedly considering marriage with his girlfriend, Alina de Almeida, 34. The couple has recently moved in together at Paulson’s Fifth Avenue apartment while his divorce from his wife continues.

De Almeida reportedly told friends that Paulson wants to have a child with her and that marriage is definitely in their future. The couple has publicly appeared at glamorous events since Paulson filed for divorce in November. Recently, de Almeida, a nutrition influencer with an online following of 138,000, attended an event with New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Paulson’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Jenny Paulson, rejected Paulson’s multi-billion dollar divorce settlement and learned about his relationship with de Almeida through a 2021 article. The couple, who are parents to two daughters named Giselle and Danielle, reportedly did not have a prenuptial agreement.

Last week, Paulson hosted a fundraiser for former President Donald Trump at his Palm Beach, Florida, mansion. The event raised over $50 million, the most ever collected at a single event.

Paulson’s lawyer, Bill Zabel, accused Jenny of “greed” for turning down the May settlement offer, which he claims exceeded legal requirements. Zabel stated, “People would have been astounded by the generosity of Mr. Paulson’s offer, which would have given Ms. Paulson far more than what is required by law. Her greed has created an insurmountable obstacle to settlement.”

Paulson noted his attempts to meet with Jenny and her lawyers for eight months, but all offers of arbitration or mediation were rejected. In July, Jenny filed a $1 billion lawsuit against John, alleging that he established a network of secretive trusts to hide money from her.

Paulson, ranked as the 177th richest man in America by Forbes in 2020, has enlisted the services of Zabel, who has represented prominent clients such as George Soros and Howard Stern. Jenny’s attorney stated that while negotiations took place, she ultimately decided to proceed with a trial.

The estranged couple, married for two decades, is reportedly embroiled in a dispute over an impressive real estate portfolio valued at over $200 million, which may significantly impact the magnate’s fortune. In addition to their Manhattan residences, the couple also co-owns a luxurious compound in Southampton.

Paulson also holds the most significant stake in Starwood Hotels, owning 7% of the $12.2 billion company. He is known for his collection of Alexander Calder pieces, with an average selling price of $175,000. Additionally, Paulson has significant investments in luxury resorts in Puerto Rico, such as the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel and St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort.
