Adele Announces New Album ’25’ Due Out November
British singing sensation Adele has finally announced the follow-up to her wildly successful 2011 sophomore effort 21 which sold a whopping 30 million copies and spawned hit singles “Rolling In The Deep,” “Someone Like You” and “Rumor Has It.” The new record is titled 25.
Check out the album cover below.
The album, like previous albums 19 and 21, takes its name from Adele’s age at the time of recording. This time, however, Adele is breaking away from break-up album territory.
“My last record was a break up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make up record,” Adele said in a press release. “I’m making up with myself. making up for lost time. making up for everything I ever did and never did.”
25 is due out Nov. 20, but fans won’t have to wait too long to get a feel for the new music as first single ‘Hello’ is due out tomorrow.
There had been much speculation about the album’s release date but no one expected the announcement to come so suddenly and Twitter is buzzing with excitement.
The video for ‘Hello’ was directed by avant-garde filmmaker Xavier Dolan and is also due tomorrow.
