Actress Lindsay Lohan’s father, Michael Lohan, was arrested and charged with domestic violence in Texas on Feb. 21, after he allegedly flipped his estranged wife Kate Major out of a chair. He was held on bail for $30,000, charged with Continuous Family Violence.

Major reported to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office that she was at a medical appointment that day when she saw Michael in the parking lot and grew “concerned he was following her.”

Following her 911 call, the police arrived and Major revealed that days earlier Michael had “flipped her out of a chair at their residence.” An officer noted that Majors’ body was visibly bruised; later that day, police arrested Michael at his house without incident.

Michael’s representative, Mike Quinn, said in a statement, “We want to take a moment to recognize Michael Lohan as a devoted father, and I’ve only known him as a loving husband, and a man who has proudly maintained his sobriety for over a decade. His dedication to his younger boys and his unwavering support for his wife, Kate, reflect his deep love and commitment to his family.”

Quinn’s statement continued, “Michael has consistently stood by Kate’s side, offering his support through her own journey toward sobriety—a challenge they’ve faced together with courage and compassion.”

“As friends of both Michael and Kate, my wife and I truly care for them and believe in their character. We are confident that Michael will be fully cleared in this matter,” he added.

Major gave a statement to Fox News: “I’m praying for privacy for the sake of my kids and myself and pray justice is finally served.”

Michael and Major have been married since 2014, and have a historically turbulent relationship due to Michael’s outbursts. He was arrested in 2020 for assaulting Major and police said he had been “verbally and physically abusive.”

Michael was first married to Dina Lohan from 1985 to 2007, and the two share four children: Aliana, Dakota, Michael Jr. and Lindsay. Major and Michael share two sons, Landon and Logan.
