Rachel Ray & Husband John Cusimano Safe After Fire Burns Their New York Home
Rachel Ray‘s upstate New York home was on fire Sunday night. A spokesperson for the celebrity chef said that Ray, her husband John Cusimano, and their dog Bella were safe.
The house caught fire around 8:30 p.m. Images and videos of the Lake Luzerne home show flames rising above the roof of the building with large clouds of smoke billowing from the house.
“The house is unfortunately damaged and we don’t yet know to what extent,” Ray’s spokesperson said in a statement.
The origin of the fire is still under investigation as of Monday morning, Warren County officials said in a press conference, though early reports say the fire may have started in the “roof assembly.”
“Because the fire started in the roof, fires don’t burn down very easily, they burn up and so there was substantial damage on the second floor area, but the first floor area, other then the water damage, and some ceilings that came down, that was in really good shape,” Warren County Fire Coordinator Brian LaFlure said. “The kitchen wasn’t touched at all.”
Ray had been filming live cooking segments from her home during the pandemic. Earlier in the day on Sunday, Ray had reportedly been out at a charity golf event with her husband.
