Pop star Britney Spears settled her legal dispute with her father, Jamie Spears, two years after the termination of her conservatorship

Britney’s attorney, Mathew S. Rosengart, confirmed in a statement that the settlement was accepted at the Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday.

“Although the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, [Britney’s] wish for freedom is now truly complete,” he said. “As she desired and instructed, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to be involved in court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter.”

He continued, “Britney Spears won when the court suspended her father, and Britney Spears won when her fundamental rights and civil liberties were restored.”

Jamie’s lawyer, Alex Weingarten, said in a statement that the pair had “reached a settlement agreement resolving all outstanding disputes.”

“Jamie is thrilled that this is all behind him,” Weingarten said. “He loves his daughter very much, and everything he has ever done has been to protect and support her. It is unfortunate that some irresponsible people in Britney’s life chose to drag this on for as long as it has.”

Britney recently released a novel titled The Woman In Me last fall.

The singer was in the news last week when paramedics were called to an L.A. hotel after she was injured in a fight with her boyfriend.
