‘Star Wars’ Monopoly Game Leaves Out Lead Character Rey
Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been breaking records left and right but when it comes to their Monopoly game, fans are disappointed that the movie’s main character Daisy Ridley’s, Rey, is not featured as an action figure.
The game lets you play as Finn, Kylo Ren, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, but is noticeably missing the film’s most important star.
In the new Star Wars movie, the force awakens in Rey. The movie revolves around Rey finding her force and her Jedi abilities but a game piece was made.
Hasbro said there was a reason that her piece wasn’t made yet. The company claims that the board released in September didn’t want to spoil how big her part would be once the movie was out.
“Rey was not included to avoid revealing a key plot line that she takes on Kylo Ren and joins the Rebel Alliance,” Julie Duffy, the company’s Global Communications vice president told the Daily News.
Social media exploded with fans wondering where their favorite character was with the hashtag #WheresRey.
Eight-year-old Annie Rose wrote a letter to Hasbro asking for an explanation:
Other fans of the movie, are asking where more action figures are and why there aren’t more of the heroine.
Hasbro has commented that they will be releasing more action figures this month.
