Mariah Carey and Brett Ratner sparked dating rumors after the two were photographed together spending a weekend in St. Barts, but the rumors appear to have died almost as quickly as they appeared.

Is Mariah Carey Dating Brett Ratner?

Carey and Ratner were spotted getting close in St. Barts, shopping together and walking arm-in-arm over the weekend, which caused many media outlets to wonder whether the two were more than friends. Carey, who celebrated her birthday on Friday, and Ratner, who also celebrated a birthday over the weekend, were seen frolicking in bathing suits and enjoying each others company.

Before their weekend getaway, Carey and Ratner made waves when they started sharing more of their friendship on social media. On March 5, Carey shared a photo of herself and Ratner “hanging out in the girls room” on Instagram.

Brett Ratner And Mariah Carey Deny Romance

After photos of the two getting cozy went public, many speculated that the old friends were finally taking their relationship to the next level, but both Carey and Ratner were quick to shut down the rumors. Ratner’s rep told People that reports of any romance between the singer and movie mogul were “ridiculous,” and sources say that the two have been close friends for years.

“Mariah would never think of Brett in that way. They’re like brother and sister,” a source told E! News.

Adding further proof there’s no romance brewing between the two, Ratner was photographed kissing a mystery blonde who isn’t Carey while in St. Barts, and the two did not appear to be vacationing alone over the weekend, but rather visiting with a group of friends.
