REM, Pearl Jam Join Campaign to Close Guantanamo
REM and Pearl Jam are joining The National Campaign to Close Guantanamo, a group of musicians supporting the president's plan to close the U.S. prison for terror suspects in Cuba. The group is irate about reports that their music has been used during interrogations of prisoners. “We have spent the past 30 years supporting causes related to peace and justice," REM's Michael Stipe, left, said in a statement. "To now learn that some of our friends’ music may have been used as part of the torture tactics without their consent or knowledge, is horrific. It’s anti-American, period.” (Photo: WENN)
