Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., has received a wave of backlash for making fun of Joe Bidens family in the wake of the former president’s prostate cancer diagnosis.

On May 18, Biden’s office announced that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer that had spread to his bones and was consulting physicians about the next steps forward. An expert confirmed that Biden was suffering from “the most aggressive” form of cancer. Following the statement, Biden posted a photo of himself and Jill to X, writing in the caption, “Cancer touches us all.”

Hours following the office statement, Trump Jr. reposted a statement on X saying, “politics aside, we wish him a speedy recovery,” writing, “Agree 100%.”

However, not long after, Trump Jr. made accusatory remarks suggesting that Biden’s family had hidden his health matters quietly to manipulate the public.

Taking aim at the former First Lady, he wrote, “What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five [sic] metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???”

On May 19, Trump Jr. made another accusation of the Biden team attempting to conceal his declining health, writing, “Joe says he had cancer 2 years ago & everyone said it’s a gaffe. When he clearly has dementia, everyone said he’s lucid. Now that he’s no longer useful they’re all shocked that they missed it.”

He added, “Everyone was in on the cover-up! Who was running the country? We need accountability!”

Trump Jr.’s comments were quick to spark major upset among liberals and conservatives alike, with the Republican X account @RpsAgainstTrump reposting his comment with the caption, “There’s no bottom for Don Jr.. True despicable.

Trump, deviating from his typical pugilistic posts, offered well wishes to the Biden family on his social media platform Truth Social, writing, “Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis…We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”
