Elton John Compares Madonna To A 'Fairground Stripper'

Madonna and Elton John, who have been engaged in a very public feud for years, are at it again.

John threw some insults Madonna's direction back during the Golden Globes, when he said that there wasn't a "chance" she would win the award for best original song in a motion picture, which she then won, and also at the Super Bowl where he made fun of her halftime performance, but the most recent dig may have something to do with John's friendship with Lady Gaga, who is the godmother to Zachary, John's son with David Furnish.

"She's been horrible to Gaga," he said in an interview on the Australian program, Sunday Night, referring to the fact that Madonna and Gaga have been engaged in a cold war of their own, with Madonna implying that Gaga's music was derivative of hers by recently launching into Gaga's "Born This Way" from her nineties hit, "Express Yourself," demonstrating the similarities between the two tunes. Madonna then sang a few bars of her own "She's Not Me" to drive the point home.

But, no matter what the motivation behind John's feelings, he certainly wasn't ashamed to make them clear. "Why is she such a nightmare?" he exclaimed. "Sorry, her career is over. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn't happen to a bigger c–t," he said. "If Madonna had any common sense she would have made a record like Ray of Light and stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly."

Then, lest anyone think he was going too easy on Madonna with his half-compliment, John returned to his original point. "She looks like a f—ing fairground stripper."

A source for Madonna responded to the attack on Madonna's behalf. "Ultimately, she doesn't care what he has to say about her in public or private," the source told the Huffington Post. "She has nothing to prove to anyone, especially Elton John."
