‘Big Brother’ Recap: Aaryn Gries And Kaitlin Barnaby Are Back On The Block
Big Brother ended last week with Jeremy McGuire getting evicted and Judd Daugherty, who has remained more or less of the radar in the house, become the latest Head of Household. Last week’s Head of Household, Helen Kim, who successfully got Jeremy sent home last week, is concerned about getting too confident. Meanwhile, Kaitlin Barnaby is the latest girl in the house to mourn her other half’s departure.
Kaitlin seems like she might make a push to get Helen out of the house, while GinaMarie Zimmerman decides that flirting with Judd could enable her to chose who he puts up for elimination. Andy Heron, McCrae Olson and Amanda Zuckerman – the secret MVP – urge Judd to not put any of them on the chopping block. He’s put off by their efforts to control him. Howard Overby and Candice Stewart decide that instead of hammering him over the head with their convictions, they’ll just stay close to him. The two “friends” are also staying close to each other – developing the latest showmance.
In Judd’s HOH room, he reveals to Howard, Elissa Slater and Spencer Clawson that he’s considering putting GinaMarie on the block. Howard pushes for Kaitlin to join GinaMarie, while Elissa suggests Aaryn Gries. Spencer is ambivalent so long as neither he nor Howard gets put up for elimination. Judd later admits in the diary room that he doesn’t see the point in putting Aaryn up. It’s also pretty clear that he has absolutely no interest in wielding the Head of Household power. Aaryn is wisely concerned that it will be her, GinaMarie and Kaitlin on the block. GinaMarie isn’t worried at all. Their disagreement leads to a fight of insults exchanged across the room from the safety of their respective beds.
“Funky FroYo” is the week’s Have/Have Not competition, which involved the contestants split into three teams downing frozen yogurt – chocolate/vanilla and anchovy/habanero – in an effort to gain the most weight. At the end of the binging exercise, The Blue Team (Helen, Kaitlin, Aaryn and GinaMarie) gains 13 pounds, the Green Team (McCrae, Howard, Elissa and Amanda) gains 12 pounds and The Red Team (Spencer, Candice, Andy and Jessie Kowalski) gain only 11, making them the latest Have Nots.
Amanda, who really wants Howard out of the field of competition, once again appeals to Judd. She relents when she gets the sense that the Head of Household is getting fed up with her nudging him. However, she continues to spread a rumor through the house that everyone wants Howard gone. Elissa meanwhile, after showing Howard some yoga poses, advises Judd to forget about GinaMarie and put Aaryn on the block. He ultimately decides to put Aaryn and Kaitlin up for eviction.
Big Brother’s audience will nominate the third person on the block, who will be announced when the show returns to CBS Wednesday at 8/7c.
