Valerie Harper, who was given just three months to live in March following a terminal brain cancer diagnosis, is reportedly one of the celebrities that will compete on the 17th season of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars.

When Harper announced her battle with the rare form of cancer and her short life expectancy, she was adamant about continuing to live her life. “I don't think of dying," had Harper told People. "I think of being here now." She further explained how she was dealing with the diagnosis on The Doctors.

“I just thought that while I’m still able, because it is my brain, to speak, to show you that I’m cooking my husband’s dinner, I’m walking on the bluff at Santa Monica, and more than anything, I’m living in the moment,” she said. “I really want Americans, and all of us, to be less afraid of death and know that it’s a passage… don’t go to the funeral before the day of the funeral. While you’re living, live.”

True to her word, Harper is alive and living – and dancing in one of the more rigorous reality TV competition shows out there. The 74-year-old comic actress has already been practicing with her partner Tristan, reported TMZ. She’s having no trouble performing the tasks and is doing a commendable job, according to the gossip site’s source.

Also rumored to be competing for the Mirror Ball trophy are former King of Queens actress Leah Remini, Jersey Shore favorite Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Elizabeth Berkley of Saved By the Bell fame, Glee’s Amber Riley and singer/host Christina Milian.
