Eminem stopped by ESPN’s Saturday Night Football to preview the music video for his new single "Berserk" and give a brief interview with football analysts Kirk Herbstreit and Brent Musburger – and it got weird.

During halftime of the highly anticipated faceoff between football powerhouses University of Michigan and Notre Dame, Eminem was sandwiched between the announcers and clearly not at ease. His head on a swivel between the two men, the rapper didn’t blink and didn’t say a word until offering the explanation: “Sorry, live TV freaks me out a bit."

Trying to get the interview on a less awkward track, Musburger asked Eminem to reveal what excited him most about his upcoming album Marshall Mathers LP 2. Eminem deadpanned, “Nothing,” before explaining that he’ll be happy that the process of creating the album is over, giving him a sense of relief.

When the interview changed direction to the former 8 Mile singer’s favorite NFL team the Detroit Lions, Eminem appeared to get slightly more comfortable. After weighing in on the team’s spread for the weekend, Eminem went on to effusively praise Musberger – whose analysis of A.J. McCarron’s girlfriend Katherine Web made the beauty queen a household name overnight.

“Just like they have fantasy football, I’ve got you on my fantasy announcer team,” Eminem told Musburger. "You being a legend if you got with Al Michaels and John Madden and just called one Lions game … man that would be a dream come true for me.” Musburger graciously attempted to return the compliment to Eminem, but the rapper seemed to have wished that he hadn’t.

“I’m really uncomfortable right now,” Eminem said, echoing the sentiments of the announcers and the viewing public.
