Brad Lee Davis Charged With Murder For Suffocating Stepfather With 'Atomic Wedgie'

A man in Oklahoma was arrested Tuesday in the murder of his stepfather, who died after an “atomic wedgie” caused him to suffocate on his underwear.

Brad Lee Davis, 33, will be charged with the murder of Denver St. Clair, 58, who died of asphyxiation and blunt force trauma to the head.

According to one report, Davis was drinking with his stepfather on Dec. 21, the night of the murder. St. Clair reportedly began speaking ill of Davis’ mother, leading Davis to give St. Clair an ‘atomic wedgie,’ one where the underwear is pulled so as the elastic wraps around the victim’s head. Another report states that Davis claims St. Clair jumped him when he arrived at St. Clair’s home, provoking a fight.

“Davis allegedly pulled the elastic waistband of St. Clair’s underwear over his head and around his neck,” reads the police arrest affidavit.

“I’d never seen this before, but when we first looked at our victim… the waistband of his underwear was around his neck,” Pottawatomie County Sheriff Mike Booth said.

Davis, who says he did not intend to kill St. Clair, called the police after St. Clair stopped breathing and turned himself in. Police found evidence of ligature marks around St. Clair’s neck, as well as blood spatter around the house. Davis was arrested and is being held without bond. His court hearing is set for Jan. 22, 2014.
