Get The Look For Less: Kerry Washington’s Oscars 2015 Dress
Kerry Washington stepped out at the 87th Annual Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theater in a lovely nude gown.
Washington wore a strapless nude number by Miu Miu that featured a peplum silhouette, an intricate bodice design and silver feather accents on the sides. The gown was tight fitting at the top and then fell close to the body as the hemline just barely touched the floor. The skirt had a beaded pattern that was beautiful but modest. The nude color brought out the Scandal‘s star glowing and fresh skin tone and was accessorized with drop earrings and little makeup. The simple look was a hit on the carpet as people appreciated her minimalism but elegant style for the night.

Washington jokingly tweeted while getting ready before the show that she was taking scene notes with her to the event as she was working on future episodes of the hit show. She even remarked that anyone who even attempted to steal her purse for spoilers would have a hard fight to get to them.

Washington alongside Jason Bateman presented the awards for Best Live Action Short Film and Best Documentary (Short Subject) to The Phone Call and Crisis Hotline: Veterans Press 1, respectively. The actress was also moved by some of the more poignant acceptance speeches of the night especially those of John Legend and Common for Selma and The Immitation Games’ screenwriter Graham Moore who said, “Stay weird, stay different.”
To get Washington’s sophisticated look but in a bolder hue, try this dress by Neiman Marcus. The vibrant color and similar silhouette works on multiple body types and skin tones. The hemline will add to your mature look and chic style and the dress is easily versatile from day to night. To polish off the look pair it with more neutral accessories like nude heels and a box clutch.
