Snoop Dogg will not be tuning in to watch the much-anticipated Roots miniseries remake that premiered Monday night.

Snoop Dogg Slams ‘Roots

Snoop Dogg uploaded a video to Instagram and Twitter Monday to explain why he won’t be watching Roots. His derision extends to the Oscar-winning 12 Years a Slave and the new TV series Underground, which both deal with American slavery.

“No disrespect, but, I can’t watch no motherf–king more black movies with ni–as getting dogged out. 12 Years a Slave, Roots, Underground... I can’t watch none of that s–t. I’m sick of this s–t,” Snoop says in the video. “How the f–k they gonna put Roots on Memorial Day? They just going to keep beating that s–t into our heads as to how they did us, huh?”

Snoop adds, “I don’t understand America. They just want to keep showing the abuse that we took hundreds and hundreds of years ago. But guess what? We’re taking the same abuse. Think about that part. When you all going to make a motherf–king series about the success that black folks is having. The only success we have is Roots and 12 Years A Slave and shit like that?”

“F–k ya’ll. I ain’t watching that s–t. And I advise you motherf–kers, as real ni–as like myself, f–k them television shows,” Snoop concludes his video message. “Let’s create our own s–t based on today. How we live and how we inspire people today. Black is what’s real. F–k that old s–t.”

Roots, a four-night event miniseries, premiered Monday on the History Channel, A&E and Lifetime.
