George Watsky, a Los Angeles rapper, climbed up a 40-foot high lighting rig and proceeding to leap off of it into the crowd – breaking a female fans arm, injuring a male fan and himself in the process. Watsky has since profusely apologized for his risky performance stunt.

George Watsky Apologizes

Watsky was in London on Sunday, ending his set at the Vans Warped Tour concert when he made his now infamous dive into the crowd. “The jump was not awesome, it was not badass, and it was not ballsy,” Watsky wrote on his Facebook page. “It turned what should have been a great day for the people who got hurt into a nightmare. It was stupid and wildly irresponsible, plain and simple.”

“I have no excuse for my actions, and the only way I can explain my mindset is that it was a huge overreach in the heat of the moment. No, I was not drunk or on drugs,” Watsky added. “I feel f—— terrible. I made a boneheaded decision that got people hurt, and it's extremely lucky it wasn't worse … I am deeply sorry and I promise to learn from this mistake."

George Watsky's Diving Off Roof

Watsky admits that throughout the course of his touring, he’s made a habit of taking gambles as a way of igniting his performances – something he now realizes it would be best to halt. Just last month, Watsky shared a picture of himself jumping off the roof of a house in costume, captioned, “Just jumping off a roof in Wisconsin in a Ninja Turtle costume… another day at work.”

Watsky promises that he won’t be jumping off anything in his five remaining tour dates, which he has no plans on canceling. His next three dates are in Germany, followed by a stop in Switzerland and concluding in Austria.
