Sacha Baron Cohen, Mia Wasikowska, Anne Hathaway and Johnny Depp all turned up on the red carpet of the premiere of Alice Through The Looking Glass at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California, Monday night.

Alice Through The Looking Glass Premiere

In Alice Through The Looking Glass, Wasikowska has reprised the titular role, while Hathaway has returned to the part of the The White Queen, Mirana. Depp’s Mad Hatter plays a larger part in the Alice in Wonderland sequel, and Cohen is making his debut as Time.

“One of the things that I love about the movie is you can’t change the past,” Hathaway told E! News in a recent interview about Alice Through The Looking Glass. “I think that it’s kind of easy to fixate on the past and what you could have done differently—the coulda, woulda, shouldas—and that just doesn’t really help you. The point of going through things—well, in many instances—is to fail upwards. You can’t change the past but you can take the lesson with you, you know?”

As for Depp, he is fascinated by his character’s madness. “Hatter has gone noticeably further down the road of insanity,” He told Reveal. “If you are crazy – or have some sort of mental dilemma – but you’re not aware of it, it’s great. If you’re aware that you’re crazy, it’ll eat you alive.”

Depp added, “So this time, there are so many things Hatter has to question. It’s taking the Mad Hatter and making him even more mad, more confused, more lost, more paranoid.”

Alice Through The Looking Glass Hits Theaters May 27.
