Courtney Cox says that deceased Friends actor Matthew Perry still “visits” her after his death.

On October 28, 2023, Perry was found dead in his hot tub at the age of 54. The L.A. County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that his death was accidental, and Perry died from the effects of ketamine usage. Perry has had a long history of drug abuse, which he detailed in a memoir titled Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.

While appearing on CBS Sunday morning, Cox talked about her relationship with Perry.

“I think he’s probably one of the funniest human beings in the world. He’s just so funny,” Cox said. “He is genuinely a huge heart. Obviously struggled.”

“I’m so thankful I got to work so closely with him for so many years,” she added. “He visits me a lot if we believe in that.”

She elaborates on her spirituality, saying, “I talk to my mom, my dad, Matthew. I feel like there are a lot of people who, I think, guide us,” she shared. “I do sense—I sense Matthew’s around for sure.”

On social media, Cox posted a tribute to Perry after his passing, along with a clip from the show.

“I am so grateful for every moment I had with you, Matty, and I miss you every day. When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. For now, here’s one of my favorites,” she wrote.

“In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say,” she concluded. “He often did things like that. He was funny, and he was kind.”
