Power Rangers, a staple in entertainment for kids and families everywhere, is back on Netflix with its latest installment, Power Rangers: Dino Fury Season 2.

Stars Chance Perez and Hunter Deno recently sat down with uInterview founder Erik Meers to discuss training for the new season.

“We got to New Zealand and we started working with the Japanese stunt team for about three weeks for four hours a day,” Perez revealed. “They taught us all the proper punches and kicks. The tornado kick was my favorite. It’s a jumping spin kick. We worked out and did push-ups and situps and all that stuff, but also deep flexibility training.”

“Oh my gosh, I think we struck for a solid hour,” Deno chimed in.

Perez also addressed taking on Black Dino Fury as his first acting role.

“When I sent [my tape] in, I was just like, ‘Oh, I watched as a kid,’ and never expected that I would get it,” Perez shared. “Going into the show, I was very nervous. I was like, ‘What’s everybody’s experience?’ Everyone did a great job of making me feel welcomed and comfortable in expressing those emotions for my character. I could go on and on. I’m so excited I got the role.”

Deno spoke out on the Power Rangers’ inclusion of the LGBTQ community and the importance it held.

“The Power Rangers as a franchise is all about their inclusivity and diversity,” the actress said. “I feel so fortunate to be a part of a season that has a lot of firsts and breaks a couple more barriers than they’ve already broken. The franchise itself is just like anybody of any age can find a character or a scene or a series that they resonate with and that’s so important and what has helped the longevity. We’re going on the 30th season now.”

Power Rangers: Dino Fury Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
