The Night Agent follows FBI Agent Peter Sutherland, Gabriel Basso, as he dives headfirst into a conspiracy of a Russian mole among government officials and is put in charge of protecting cybersecurity expert Rose Larkin, Luciane Buchanan, after her family is murdered.

In an exclusive interview with uInterview, Basso and Buchanan revealed how they created the chemistry before shooting the show.

“We went bungee jumping,” Buchanan said.

“Yeah, the first day – so I was driving up to Vancouver and I called her before we had officially met, and I just asked her if she wanted to go bungee jumping so I think it was bonding through trauma,” Basso joked.

Buchanan continued, “I said no like three times and I was like, ‘ok, fine’ and like the whole time we drove to Whistler and Vancouver I was not listening to anything you were saying I was just like, ‘I’m going to jump off a bridge. I’m going to jump off a bridge. I’ve just met this person and I’m gonna jump off a bridge.'”

The two also revealed the most difficult scenes to film.

Basso began, “I think physically was the beach fight just because we had a lot of extenuating circumstances with weather and tide moving in we were fighting on rocks and there was some, uh all these last minute adjustments that were being made so it was pretty tough and then we ended up having to do it again because we couldn’t use the second half of the night because of the tide the beach didn’t match so it was just pretty it was just pretty brutal.”

“The water, wasn’t it contaminated so we couldn’t actually touch the water,” Buchanan chimed in.

“Yeah so that was another thing, is the water had a really high concentration of E Coli,” Basso said. “Yeah, so was it was a time but, um we did it.”

The Night Agent is now available for streaming on Netflix.
