Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon hits the theaters on Friday just in time for spooky season.

The film features stars Kate Hudson as a single mother and Jun Jong Seo as a mental institute escapee with supernatural powers. The two team up to make a quick fortune, but it all breaks down as cops close in on them.

Ed Skrein, who plays Fuzz, recently sat down for an exclusive with uInterview founder Erik Meers to discuss his favorite moment working on the set with director Ana Lily Amirpour.

“Every moment with Ana Lily can only be described as psychedelic,” Skrein said. “I was tripping on her creativity the whole time. I didn’t drink a beer the whole time I was there. I was sober as a judge and I was black tripping on vibes. She’s walking around with Benny the dog snapping around her heels with a ghetto blaster playing dope house music, sometimes while we’re in the middle of the take. She’s just a ball of enthusiasm and creativity. It was kind of like Laurel and Hardy when we met … like Little and Large, just kind of taking each other on and trying stuff. Even that line where Fuzz says, ‘All right, Imma see you in the sequel.’ That wasn’t scripted. She came up on the last take and was like, ‘Will you try and say that?’ I was like, ‘For real? You’re crazy?’ She was like, ‘It’ll be fun!’ and I was like, ‘F–k yeah. That was fun as s–t.’ I think we only did it in one take. It was just beautiful.”

Skrein also revealed what it was like working with his famous co-stars.

Craig [Robinson] is my guy.” he added. “I’ve been shooting in L.A. and I’ve been meeting up with him. Our families get together and everything. Little Evan [Whitten], the little fella … he was such a sweetheart and funny as hell, profession and truthful actor. The scene with him in the car where he’s nervous … I love that scene so much. I really feel blessed the last couple of years with projects I’ve gotten to work on. This is my dream stuff. If I saw this movie, I’d be like, ‘Damn, I want to make stuff like this. I want to work with people like her and I want to play characters like this and exist in the world like this.’ I’m proper grateful.”
