The Big Door Prize, which premiered at the South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas, follows the story of a mysterious machine that appears in a small town grocery store that predicts the destiny of anyone who uses it. In the show, Ally Maki stars as Hana.
In an exclusive interview with uInterview, Maki discussed her favorite memory from shooting the show.
“I think it was the first time that I saw the morpho machine in person because I’d been reading the scripts for so many months and I just couldn’t envision really what it looked like and then the first time I saw it it’s just these massive butterfly wings – it was so cool and bright blue and it was like glowing,” she said.
Maki also revealed her secret talent.
“You know, I don’t know if it’s a hidden talent but I am obsessed with docu-crime and crime series,” Maki said. “Like I get so invested that I will watch all of the court cases and I think that I’m like part of the case so I think I’d make a pretty good lawyer.”
The Big Door Prize is now available for streaming on Apple TV+.
