Andrew Dice Clay co-stars alongside Cate Blanchett and Peter Sarsgaard in the new Woody Allen drama Blue Jasmine, which chronicles the life of New York socialite Jasmine (Blanchett) as she relocates to San Francisco to live with her sister amid a life crisis.
Clay felt grateful for the opportunity to work with master director Allen. “He really looks for the exact type, you know, and from what he’s saying I brought a lot more to the table than he was expecting, you know, which is an unbelievable compliment coming from one of the greats of all time,” Clay told Uinterview exclusively.
The two bonded over their backgrounds in standup on the film’s set. “We had some conversations, and he would tell me how he started out and places he would play like The Bottom Line,” he said. “And, you know, actually I think he’s thinking about doing standup again.”
