VIDEO EXCLUSIVE: ‘The Bachelorette’ Star Tyler Cameron Opens Up About His New Reality Series ‘Going Home’

Tyler Cameron, the former star of The Bachelorette, opened up about his new Prime Video series, Coming Home.

After his mother died, Cameron returned to his hometown, Jupiter, Florida, and started a reality TV show that follows the launch of his new construction and home renovation company.

“I love being at home in Jupiter,” Cameron told uInterview founder Erik Meers. “It’s a place I can focus, it’s my peace, I love being there, I feel safe, I feel peaceful, I love being in New York, but it’s just crazy for me always running around having fun, and I don’t really get the peace aspect in New York, and I’ve always wanted to start this company. I’ve always wanted to dive into this real estate construction world so everyone can learn and go through it with me.”

Cameron reflected on getting the show off the ground and made it a reality. “I think getting the right people involved, putting your systems in place to carry out scheduling and planning,” he said. “It was a lot of work, and it took a lot of ups and downs and fixing and figuring out, but you see, we go through it as a team and, like, we’re struggling to find people here and there, and we gotta make it happen – but overall I think it came out great.”

With his father, a regular character on the show, Cameron remembered the experience of working with family. “Working with your pops is tough, you know, because you have different ways of looking at things, doing things,” he said. “But it was fun because now we get to see each other and work with each other every day, but it definitely – you know, I’m complaining to him right now ’cause my cabinets are probably delayed because of him, so it’s ups and downs, but it’s fun.”

Cameron stated that he thinks his design style varies depending on the house he is in. For instance, he said, “I’m renovating my house right now, and it kind of has that old colonial feel to it, so I’m kind of diving into that and a lot of trim work, a lot of wallpapers, I’m choosing a lot of moody colors,” he said. “It’s funny when I dress up. I wear a plain tee and jeans, but in my bathroom, I got like all these different color tiles. I really push the issue with colors when I do my house.”

Going Home is now streaming on Prime Video.
